The tech giant said that Safe Search filtering is already on by default for signed-in users under the age of 18.
However, soon a new setting will blur offensive imagery if it appears in search results even when Safe Search filtering is not turned on.
This setting will be the new default for people who don't already have the Safe Search filter turned on, the company said.
This is an option to adjust the setting at any time.
Google also launched Build a Safer Internet, its new YouTube Kids playlist, which will feature content that raises awareness about the safe, responsible and positive use of technology for families.
